Employers

FDH employers, especially first time employers, may not be familiar with employment matters and may not be fully aware of their obligations as an employer. We pride in taking time to brief and support FDH employers properly about their obligations under EO, IO and the SEC. FDH employers should also take out suitable employees’ compensation insurance for their employees as required under ECO and their obligations under Clause 9 of the SEC in relation to medical expenses of FDHs.


Application Requirements

  • HKID for permanent Hong Kong resident or Passport with right to stay particulars
  • Financially capable with copies of financial/income proof for the last 3 months
  • Residential proof within the last 3 months

Responsibilities as an Employer (including but not limited to)

  • Pay full wages and observe the minimum allowable wage
  • Observe statutory requirements of rest days, holidays and paid annual leave
  • Free passage to and from Hong Kong
  • Free medical treatment whilst in Hong Kong
  • Medical insurance as mandated by the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance
